Baristaville family celebrating Diwali!

Today marks the start of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. It’s a joyous celebration filled with the lighting of lamps, food, friends and fireworks.

Family Art Day
Who:
All ages.
What: Celebrate Diwali the festival of lights! Mold your own clay lamp and decorate it with beautiful materials. Join other families to create Rangoli – patterns made on the floor with flower petals.
Where: Rubin Museum of Art, 150 West 17th Street, New York NY.
When: Saturday, November 6 at 2 pm.
Cost: $10 per person. (members $5)

Diwali Festival
Who:
Older kids and their parents.
What: Members of the East-West School of Dance will perform the story of Diwali to celebrate the annual Indian festival known as the “Festival of Lights.”
Where: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street, New York NY.
When: Saturday, November 6 from 2 pm – 4 pm.
Cost: Free with museum admission. (If you’re a Bank of America cardholder, admission is free this weekend!)
