Montclair has four reported deaths from COVID-19 as of Tuesday, and a total of 21 positive cases, according to state and local health officials.
At 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, a Montclair police officer stopped a vehicle for various motor violations. During that time, police learned that the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle fled, and in the process, the driver struck a Montclair officer.
New Jersey moves to Phase 2 of reopening.
The number of people being admitted to hospitals across the state due to COVID-19 had dropped almost in half from Thursday to Friday, according to state officials.
Priority will be given to asymptomatic health care workers, those who live in congregate living settings, and people who have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19.
