Book Sale

The College Women’s Club of Montclair is holding its fall Used Book and Music Sale to benefit its college scholarship fund for local girls from Wednesday, Nov. 17, through Saturday, Nov. 20.

The sale features thousands of new and used books and paperbacks, LPs, CDs, DVDs/BluRays, audio Bp, sheet music, software and ephemera.

The event takes place at book sales headquarters, 26 Park St., lower level, across the street from the YMCA.

Sale hours:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2 to 7 p.m. (children’s items only)
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. ($20 admission fee till noon, Thursday only)
  • Friday, Nov. 19, and Saturday, Nov. 20, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Credit cards accepted for purchases of $10 or more; no half-price or bag days.

The College Women’s Club of Montclair, a branch of the American Association of University Women since 1928, holds two book sales a year at 26 Park St. to raise money for college scholarships for area high school senior girls.  The all-volunteer organization recycles donated books from the community to stock its sales.

Volunteers come from area high schools, fulfilling their community service requirement.  The club rents the space at 26 Park St. year-round to house 100,000 books; last year it bestowed 18 $2,000 scholarships.
