On behalf of Montclair Film, I wanted to express our appreciation for the support of our organization and the great experience described by Ted DuPont in his letter to the editor, “Bravo for reopening the Clairidge — but one concern,” run on MontclairLocal.news Oct. 28.
Montclair Film is proud to be the new operator of The Clairidge, the six-screen cinema located inside the Hinck Building at 486 Bloomfield Ave.
However, our business begins at the interior glass doors to the cinema itself, which will remain open during business hours. Neither Montclair Film nor The Clairidge teams were involved in the renovations to the lobby, exterior doors or any other areas of the Hinck Building outside of The Clairidge itself.
Montclair Film is committed to accessibility for all of our patrons and has made significant investments to ensure The Clairidge is a space that is welcoming and accessible for all. We understand Mr. DuPont’s concerns about access to the building and although we had no input into the choices made regarding the design and implementation of the exterior doors or interior lobby of the Hinck Building, we will continue to work and to advocate for full access to our business for all.
We look forward to welcoming Mr. DuPont back to the movies when we open for business on Nov. 4 and appreciate his enduring support.
