The Montclair Foundation and Van Vleck House and Gardens announced winners of its annual Scarecrow Contest on Oct. 23.

The winners of each category were awarded $500 to donate to the nonprofit of their choosing. Thirty scarecrows were entered, and over 970 people voted for the best entries.

The winners in each category and the nonprofits they selected are:

  • Families: Vincent Van Crow, Ashley/Neary Family, Toni’s Kitchen
  • Individuals: Top Cat, Carol Bertolotti, Van Vleck House & Gardens
  • PTA’s/Classes: Granny Flora, Yantacaw School PTO
  • Nonprofits: Where the Wild Things Are, Kids in Cleats
  • Local Business: October Bride, Blooms in Hand, Human Needs Food Pantry
  • Scout Troops: Daisy, Daisy Troop No. 20478, Toni’s Kitchen

Sponsors included PSE&G, PNC Bank, Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, and Martin O’Boyle Landscaping.
