Michelle C. McMahon Esposito of Cedar Grove, formerly of Montclair, lost her battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) on Jan. 9, 2021, dying peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She was 51.

Mrs. Esposito graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in sociology.

She dedicated her life’s work to serving others at the American Red Cross for 25 years as the regional volunteers services officer for New Jersey. 

As in life, she left with grace and continued to worry about everyone but herself.

Mrs. Esposito is survived by her husband, Dave; sister, Colleen Murphy; brother, Robert McMahon (Cindi), and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of Robert and Patricia McMahon.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said on Jan. 13 at St. Cassian Church in Upper Montclair. Entombment was private. Arrangements were by Caggiano Memorial Home for Funerals.
