Nishuane Park pool.

In Montclair, Mountainside and Nishuane Pools will open on Monday, July 13, but at half capacity due to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing. Members will be allowed in for two-hour shifts only. 

Township pool memberships will go on sale to residents only on Wednesday, July 8, through the community pass system. For safety reasons, there is no in-person registration at this time.

Pool members may pick up their pool key fobs beginning Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the Municipal Building located at 205 Claremont Avenue where an outdoor pick-up location will be provided in our parking lot. Proof of residency is required for pool key fob pick up. 

No daily passes or out of town guests will be permitted this season.

2020 Pool Fees have been discounted:

  • Family (2 adults and 2+ children; or 1 single parent and 3+ children) $185
  • Adult (18 or older) $64
  • Child/Youth $45
  • Senior $19
  • Caregiver $64 (must be attached to a family membership)

Pool hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The pool will operate on two-hour swim shifts (11 a.m. -1 p.m., 1:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.,  4 p.m. – 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.). All members will be asked to vacate the pool at the end of each shift for daily sanitization COVID19 protocol. Pool members can only visit the pool for one shift each day to allow for all members to be able to visit the pool daily. 

Before entering, temperatures of all staff and pool members will be required and no one with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be allowed to enter. 

Pool members must wear a face covering when entering, exiting and using the bathrooms. 

Face coverings are suggested at all times when not in the pool. The lifeguards will not be required to wear face coverings when on duty.

Foot coverings are also required.

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Social distancing is required on the pool deck and pool.  

No pool chairs or lounges will be offered, and patrons must bring their own chair and towel. 

Swim attire will be required, no diapers allowed and all swimmers must shower before entering the pool. Masks, fins, snorkels, rafts, or floats are not permitted.

No food or drink is allowed in the pool facility.
