Joyce A. Masilunas.

Joyce A. (Clark) Masilunas of Verona, formerly of Montclair, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 18. She was 84.

Joyce was born and raised in Ironton, Ohio, one of two children of Gladys and Gray Clark. Her sibling was the late Wilma Jean (Clark) McDonald of Naples, Fla.

She graduated from Ironton High School, was very proud of being an Ironton Tiger, and never missed a high school reunion to visit with her friends.

She was an airline attendant for Eastern Airlines and was based in New York City. Soon after moving to New York, she met her husband, Edward.

She enjoyed working many years at Macy’s promoting the fragrances of Giorgio Armani and Versace.

Joyce lived a purposeful life with a large extended family, gratifying career, and travel to many parts of the world with her husband. She was a member of St. Cassian R.C. Church in Upper Montclair.

She was a long-time member of the Mercier Club and enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, bocce and watching the PGA and LPGA tours. She was a trustee for 40-plus years for St. Vincent Auxiliary in Montclair and Cedar Grove. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Upper Montclair.

She was preceded by Edward, her husband for 60 years, and is survived by her four children, Cyndee (Bob) Rowan of Montclair, Dena (Todd) Gertz of Roseland, Lisa (Dave) Sabagh of Cedar Grove, and Edward Jr. (Amy) Masilunas of Mount Lebanon, Pa., as well as nine grandchildren, Robert, Emily, Justin, Jake, Jason, Katheryn, Jack, Owen, and Grace.

A memorial will be planned at a future date for family and friends to gather and share memories.
