Eleven New Jersey dance schools and New York and New Jersey dance companies including this year’s commissioned choreographer, Oluwadamilare ‘Dare’ Ayorinde, perform for Montclair’s 6th annual free dance festival, Dance on the Lawn, Saturday afternoon, September 7, on the lawn of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The festival was founded by current Artistic Director Charmaine Warren and Managing Director Laura Marchese in 2014. Warren is the producer of Dance Africa at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Marchese is an arts and dance educator, a developer of curricula, and a recipient of NJ Governor’s Arts in Education Distinguished Teaching Artist Award and national recognition as a Master Teaching Artist in Dance.
