Paintings by Melissa Capasso will be on view in “Second Sight,” an exhibition at Gold/Scopophilia, 594 Valley Road, inside the Mews, from Saturday, Sept. 7, through Wednesday, Oct. 9.
An opening reception will be held on Sept. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The gallery writes, “Capasso is a Brooklyn-based painter whose work engages directly and fearlessly with American painting since 1950. In her juicy, visceral works, she responds to and rejoins the greats: from de Kooning to Guston to Mitchell. Felt brush strokes and a thoughtful, exuberant palette meet evocative forms and unexpected anatomies.”
