This week Kelly Nicholaides wrote about Montclair’s battle with leaf blowers. Some use them for convenience, while others hate the noise and the fumes they produce. And although Montclair bans the use of leaf blowers during the summer months, environmental commission officials said they field complaints of them being used all summer long.
Montclair Environmental Commission officials are looking into banning gas powered blowers as a way to alleviate the noise and the fumes. But landscapers say electric blowers are not efficient, either needing a plug in or multiple battery changes.
