Gary Trabka, 64, of Naples, Fla., died on June 18, 2019 after a short but hard fight against hepatocellular cancer.
Mr. Trabka was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Trabka and was raised in Shelton, Conn. with his two brothers, Joseph Trabka Jr. and Wayne Trabka.
He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors of arts degree in economics from the University of Connecticut and later earned a master of business administration degree from Columbia University.
Mr. Trabka and his wife Louise raised their family in Montclair, before relocating to Naples, Fla. and spending summers on the Jersey shore.
He had a career at Prudential and Oaktree Capital Management; and retired young, giving him the opportunity to spend time with family, travel the world, and take pictures ─ preferably all at the same time. He loved the outdoors and spent hours exploring new cities and places.
Mr. Trabka is survived by his wife of 41 years, Louise (Fafard); his children, Kimberly Kilfoyle (Brian Kilfoyle), Carolyn Trabka-Graham (Colin Graham) and David Trabka; and grandchildren, Jack, Wyatt and Ryleigh.
A celebration of life for Mr. Trabka will be held the weekend of July 20. For additional details email CelebratingGary@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers/gifts/cards, donations in memory of Gary Trabka can be made to Care Dimensions Hospice House at give.caredimensions.org. Mr. Trabka spent his remaining days there in a way he most enjoyed: outdoors with family.
