Vincent Tango, lifelong Montclair resident, died on Monday, April 29, 2019, at the age of 74.
Mr. Tango was an artist very well known for his “Memories of Montclair” pieces. He was a serious Montclair historian; an avid Montclair High School football fan, compiling an anthology of Mountie football history released in 2001; and most recently an amateur writer; as seen by his heartfelt letters to the editor in Montclair Local. Montclair being the “theme” here, as he had such love for the town as all can attest.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Franciosi, his brother-in-law Vincent Nicastro, his nieces and nephews Kim Romola, Vincent Nicastro, Lisa Snipes, Lynne Franciosi, and Lainie Zink, along with many great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marion Tango and Rosalie Nicastro.
Funeral services will be held privately with respect to his wishes.
Anyone wishing to make donations in his memory may do so to the Montclair History Center at montclairhistory.org.
