left hand turn
Lackawanna redevelopment plans show the current entrance and exit on Bloomfield at the (bottom left yellow circle) and the planned entrance and exit on Grove Street (right yellow circle). Developers are planning to allow motorists to enter the parking from Grove Street going northbound by making a left hand turn. The council is against any left-hand turns on Grove Street from Bloomfield to Glenridge.

Earlier this week, we reported that the council is against plans from the Lackawanna Plaza developer that would allow left-hand turns into and out of a new planned supermarket entrance on Grove Street.

Council members expressed concern that the new entrance (upper yellow circle in the photo above) could cause a backup of motorists coming from Elm Street and Bloomfield Avenue, and be a traffic hazard. Left-hand turns into the existing entrance on Bloomfield (lower yellow circle in the photo above) will not be allowed.

Do you think left hand-turns from Grove Street into the Lackawanna parking lot should be allowed?
