Fourth Ward Councilwoman Renée Baskerville will host a town hall meeting to discuss the pros and cons of legalizing recreational marijuana use and sales in the township and the state on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chamber, 205 Claremont Ave., Montclair.

Issues to be discussed include legalized marijuana’s impacts: economic benefits, educational benefits, impact on crime, impact on health, impact on the judicial system and impact on the workforce.

Confirmed participants are: New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, Montclair Mayor Robert D. Jackson, New Jersey Senator Nia H. Gill, New Jersey Senator Ronald L. Rice, New Jersey Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin, Essex County Freeholder President Brendan Gill, Montclair Municipal Prosecutor Joseph C. Angelo and New Jersey Medical Association President Dr. Cynthia Y. Paige.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
