On Friday, Sept. 28, The Glenridge Parklet opened with the theme being – love. Mayor Robert Jackson, BID Director Israel Cronk and other officials opened the new seasonal parklet. The custom designed parklet, located across from 217-219 Glenridge Ave., will feature free wifi and community seating. The parklet will be up through the fall.
The Glenridge parklet has been sponsored by Schumacher Insurance, the Township of Montclair, the Montclair Center BID and TeknoGrid. It was designed and constructed by Shaun Killman, a custom fabrication company. Wifi was provided by TeknoGrid of Newark.
Parklets are sidewalk extensions that provide more space and amenities for pedestrians. The Glenridge parklet occupies two former parking spaces on Glenridge Avenue, off Bloomfield Avenue.
