A Montclair man was taken to the hospital with injuries after a pedestrian accident on Valley Road Wednesday night.

Police Lt. David O’Dowd said Thursday that the man, a 49-year-old Montclair resident, had been crossing Valley Road at Holland Terrace when a vehicle struck him in the crosswalk at 7:10 p.m.

O’Dowd said that the pedestrian complained of leg pain and was taken to Mountainside Hospital. The vehicle driver, a 64-year-old Montclair man, remained at the scene. The incident is still under investigation.

The crosswalk where the accident took place leads from Holland Terrace to the entrance of Edgemont Park.
