There has been a small price reduction on Yogi Berra’s former Tudor mansion on Wayside Place. ADAM ANIK/FOR MONTCLAIR LOCAL

With this price cut, maybe now you can afford Yankee legend Yogi Berra’s former home in Montclair, a lavish Tudor mansion.

The price tag for the 1.4-acre estate on Wayside Place has been trimmed by $404,000, to $2.795 million from its initial listing of $3.199 million back in late May, according to Halstead Property’s website.

The real estate firm’s broker on the house, Christine Lane, on Tuesday confirmed that the price on the 6,800-square-foot mansion had been reduced. But she declined to make any additional comments.

The mansion has 13 rooms, with five bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms, according to the online description provided by Halstead Property, which describes itself as “the official luxury real estate firm of the New York Yankees.”

The original listing on Berra’s former homestead said “Live like a Hall of Famer,” and described the house as having been restored by its current owner, Rose Cali, the widow of New Jersey real estate magnate John Cali. Through a merger, his company later became Mack-Cali Realty.

The mansion’s features include a large living room with a fireplace, “a turreted dining room with a cathedral ceiling,” its original hardwood floors, a slate roof, leaded-glass windows, a billiards room and a second-floor library, according to Halstead Property.

The property also has “bluestone terraces that surround a pool, outdoor fireplace, gazebo and bocce court,” the real estate firm said, as well as a porte-cochere and a circular driveway.

Local property taxes on the Wayside Place property are $57,733 a year.
