Here are some of what we at the Montclair Local are grateful for this year, as we look forward to our Thanksgiving dinners. What are you thankful for? Send us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adam Anik, photographer: I’m thankful for my family, my sister making T-Day dinner, and that I still have a job in journalism!
Heeten Choxi, publisher: I’m thankful for allergy medicine and for having subscribers and advertisers that are supporting local news.
Andrew Garda, sports reporter: I’m thankful that the Giants are so bad this year that my Jets are a back page afterthought. I’m thankful for the opportunity to get to know the student-athletes I have this year from all three schools. They’ve really made me smile, a lot.
Linda Moss, municipal reporter: I’m grateful to be working for publishers who care about this community, so much so that they have dedicated their time, money and sweat equity to this newspaper. I am thankful not to be working for a public company that is single-handedly destroying journalism across this great nation. I am grateful to still be fighting the good fight. All reporters will know what I mean.
Gwen Orel, culture editor: I am thankful for my cats, my mom, for Irish music, the Montclair Local and all the wonderful people I get to meet on my job, and for the existence of cold medicine.
Erin Roll, education reporter: I’m thankful for my family (the humans and the canines), my friends and my writing group buddies, and that I’m almost done with grad school. I’m also thankful for books, music, tea, chocolate and “NCIS.”
Deborah Ann Tripoldi, editorial assistant: I’m thankful for the new adventures with old and new friends. For the new people who have come into my life. And of course for my family. Oh, and socks without holes!
