A 14-year-old West Orange boy was found with multiple stab wounds near Nishuane Park Thursday evening, according to the Montclair Police Department.

Officers successfully apprehended the suspect in the incident, also a 14-year-old West Orange boy, according to an MPD release. The incident is under investigation.

Police received multiple 911 calls reporting an injured juvenile in the area of Nishuane Park at approximately 6:50 p.m. Thursday according to the release. The victim was found with stab wounds to his neck, back and arm, and was taken to UMDNJ hospital in Newark. The release stated he is in stable condition. The suspect was found with a scratch to his elbow.

Nishuane Park is located in Montclair’s South End, bounded by Harrison Avenue, High Street, Cedar Avenue and Llewellyn Road.
