Claire M. (Werner) Vaughan, 94, of Montclair died Oct. 9, 2017.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Church of the Immaculate Conception-St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 30 North Fullerton Ave., Montclair, on Friday, Oct. 13, at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Burial arrangements are private.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in Newark. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and worked as the building manager for 188 Claremont Ave., where she made many lifelong friends.
Mrs. Vaughan was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Alice Werner, by her seven siblings, and by her children Michael James, Alice and Mary Ellen.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James; by her sons Christopher Vaughan and his wife, Julie, of North Easton, Massachusetts; Martin Vaughan of Montclair, and Robert Vaughan and his wife, Ramona, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; by her grandchildren, Catherine Eriksen, Timothy Vaughan, Elizabeth Vaughan, Anna Vaughan, Judith Genneken, Michael Kornytchuk, Stephen Palmatier, Sal Palmatier, Rebecca Vaughan and Robert Vaughan; and by four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Steven, Luca and Owen.
