Montclair Film has announced its seventh annual benefit event, featuring Stephen Colbert and Samantha Bee, to be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at NJPAC.
Montclair Film announced that Montclair resident Stephen Colbert, host of CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” will host an evening with Samantha Bee, host of TBS’s “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” on stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. The evening, titled “SAD! A Happy Evening With Stephen Colbert and Samantha Bee,” will feature the pair in an onstage exchange on topics including their comic influences, politics and entertainment.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. to Montclair Film members. American Express members will receive pre-sale access on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m., and public ticket sales begin on Friday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. Public tickets will be available by telephone at 1-888-GO-NJPAC (1-888-466-5722), at the NJPAC Box Office at One Center St., Newark, and at njpac.org and ticketmaster.com. The evening’s proceedings will be on social media platforms with the hashtag #SadHappy17
All proceeds from the evening will benefit Montclair Film, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that hosts the annual Montclair Film Festival (April 27-May 6, 2018), as well as year-round cinema, film education, and community programs.
“Samantha Bee and Stephen Colbert joining forces to make us laugh is a dream come true,” said Montclair Film Executive Director Tom Hall, in the announcement.
